Firmware 2.41 will arrive tomorrow?
Since releasing - then retracting - firmware 2.40, Sony have been quiet on exactly when the reported bugs would be fixed.
Whilst the problem was never as widespread as some would have us believe (recently confirmed in a PS3 Fanboy poll), it certainly was bad enough for the affected few that Sony had to pull the plug on the much-anticipated release.
Rumours starting floating around this morning that the replacement, Firmware 2.41, would arrive tomorrow. We are awaiting confirmation of this, so watch this space.
This is, of course, great news for those of us (me included) that weren't in front of their PS3s when 2.40 hit, and so haven't been able to form that all-important trophy collection habit.

i downloaded the 2.40 fw from the net the day after if you do a google search its online :-) works fine on my ps3
Works fine for you, anon, but might not for others.
We can't recommend anyone download the file from the Internet, especially when 2.41 is imminent - best to just wait.
I didn't get to download it either. I sure hope it does come out soon. I really want to be able to send messages to people in game and collect trophies.
