The Darkness sequel confirmed; original developer Starbreeze “not involved”
Announced at this year’s Comic-Con by publisher Top Dog and promptly picked up by Joystiq, a sequel to the somewhat average – though admittedly quite peculiar – The Darkness has been confirmed to be in development for the PS3 and 360.
Following up the announcement just as quickly by VG247, it appears original developer Starbreeze will not be returning to the title leading the door open for another developer to take a stab at the supernatural FPS.

The footage introduces AC130 killstreak reward, which allows you to become the gunner of an AC130 gunship and reign chaos from above.

Shatter – The PS3 Attitude Review
E3 was a momentous event that housed tons of gaming big screens, booth babes, and flashy lights and sounds. Tucked away between the two halls of the convention, right next to the Into the Pixel Gallery, was a lone setup. There were no booth babes, no flashy gimmicks, and just one game. The game was Shatter and its developer; Sidhe.
Finally, almost two months later, the game has been released and we were excited to finish what we had started back at E3. You play as BAT1138, a slave to the machine empire, forced to harvest energy for his masters. After a breakdown, he becomes self aware and breaks free from his prison. In order to escape, BAT must successfully traverse the ten levels of the factory and defeat the bosses at the end of each.
Marvel superhero costumes for LittleBigPlanet, Bub
We’re got a number of Marvel properties coming to the PS3 this year. Among others, there’s Marvel Super Hero Squad (for the kids), Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 (for Stan Lee fans) and Iron Man 2 (for people convinced the sequel can’t be as bad as the first game) so it’s no surprise to see Marvel promoting their upcoming wares in as many ways as super-humanly possible.
And who better to promote your new game than the lovable Sackboy?

Website features update; the bunny boiler edition
Good day dear readers.
The swanky new login bar we implemented recently just didn’t work out. Once we’d got it home, it started re-arranging all our furniture and brought it’s pet bug collection along with it, so we had to be cruel to be kind and kick it out on the street.
But here’s the good news…
Twitter Weekly Digest for 2009-07-26
Welcome to what will be the last of our Twitter Weekly Digests. Whilst we’re continuing to be as active on Twitter as ever, we’ve decided to stop giving these weekly updates from now on as we hope you’ll have joined us – and all the interesting people we’ve introduced you to – on Twitter by now.
So in this final edition, we discuss game modes with David Jaffe, terrible pun-worthy headlines, the brilliant iTrophies app, our new Fantasy Football league and a real life computer bug.
It Came From Japan #2 – Shin Megami Tensei: Persona
A spin-off from the equally popular Shin Megami Tensei (True Goddess Reincarnation), the Persona flavour is especially popular among Japanese youth.
Where Persona fits in this wider RPG mosaic is not necessarily complicated, but it does at least require some explanation.
Persona is in fact a spin-off of a spin-off, and though we could have chosen to focus on just the primary spin-off (Shin Megami Tensei – we do hope you’re keeping up), we decided to highlight Persona purely because it has a better chance of seeing a Western release on the PS3.
Bionic Commando: Rearmed patched; trophies live
The wait is finally over…for North America at least. Today, Capcom has released the patch that brings trophy support to Bionic Commando: Rearmed.
In order to enable trophies though, you’re going to have to manually delete your current save date and create a new one. Tis a small price to pay for the luminous goblets. So just exactly what trophies are there to earn? Let’s take a look…
