Call for Duty – we’re recruiting

Welcome back. You're a regular here, so why not follow us on Twitter too...

PS3 Attitude is expanding, and we need good people to help us reach the next level.

Since starting out in the middle of 2007, PS3 Attitude has reached over 1 million PS3 owners across the globe. We’re currently growing at a rate of over 200% per year, and that kind of success has dictated that we expand our team of volunteers.

A 100% philanthropic venture, PS3 Attitude donates every ounce of revenue to charity. This year, we are supporting GamesAid – the video game industry charity – and because the site is privately funded, none of the money generated goes to administration or upkeep.

Do you feel the need to aid our cause? Could you spare some of your time to help take PS3 Attitude to the next level?

We’re recruiting unpaid volunteers for the following roles:

Social Networking Manager

This role is best suited to any individual that has a good understanding and practical experience in promoting groups through Facebook, MySpace and/or PlayFire. The successful candidate will be required to manage the various social networking profiles PS3 Attitude uses, create new social marketing opportunities and submit top stories through social bookmarking systems such as Digg, Reddit and Mixx. Experience in a broad range of social networking and bookmarking solutions would be beneficial.

Expected workload – 15-60 minutes per day

Calendar and Events Editor

The successful candidate will be responsible for the upkeep of the PS3 Attitude games release calendar and for management of the events system. As each calendar entry requires a URL for further details and to drive charity revenues, experience in URL management and affiliate schemes is a plus.

Expected workload – 10-30 minutes per day

Podcast Celebrity

PS3 Attitude are keen to start a regular audio/video podcast, and we’re looking for an established podcaster/YouTube producer to donate their time to helping us produce a short feature for the site each month. The podcast can be audio or video and is expected to be short and concise enough that it could be recorded as an ‘extra’ to an existing show the successful candidate may already be involved in. Cross-marketing opportunities are available with existing video/audio podcast producers who would be interested in supporting our cause.

Expected workload – 2-3 hours per month

Contributors and Staff Writers

PS3 Attitude is expanding their writing team. All writers start as contributors to the site; those that contribute two articles a day (with one article a week being an original piece) and who meet the quality of output the site requires (we have high grammar and spelling standards to meet) become Staff Writers with extra privileges (including review copies of games etc.). The role is best suited to existing journalists who wish to be involved in a philanthropic venture or established bloggers who can show the quality of their work in advance.

Expected workload – 30-90 minutes per day

Geography

We are looking for volunteers across the world. In particular we’d love to hear from contributors and potential staff writers based on the US West Coast, UK/Europe, Australia and Japan.

Applications

To apply for any of these positions, please complete the form below.

IMPORTANT: If you are applying for a Contributor/Staff Writer role, please write a sample game review. You can choose any PS3 game (old or new, BD or HDD). The review should be uploaded using the form below as a text (.txt) file only. Your sample review can include any number of words, but the resulting .txt file needs to be less than 250k in size. If you’re an established writer, you may use a review you have previously written as long as you have permission from the site owner to upload it here.
