Sackboy Costumes Priced plus… Ape Escape for Japan
Welcome back. You're a regular here, so why not follow us on Twitter too...
With Sackboy costumes popping up all over the place (seriously, check out the King Kong one!) it’s no surprise to learn that Media Molecule will be going The Rockband Routeâ„¢ (which we posit is the antithesis of the Burnout Methodâ„¢) and offering costumes for everyone’s favourite burlap mischief-maker at a price going forward. Unlike Sackboy of course, we live in the real world where companies need to not only make “games” but also “profit” so we’re not against well-priced quality DLC.
Unless we can get it for free of course!
Bucking the concept of extreme capitalism, it’s nice to see that free content will also be made available for LittleBigPlanet owners as time goes by or for those that jump on the Sack Wagon early. Case in point: check out this Wired article where Japanese customers who pre-order the game will be gifted with a simian inspired costume.
As a big fan of Ape Escape this offer causes intense burning streams of envy to course through my very veins (it could just be the Jack Daniels though) so we’re hoping this costume is not restricted to just our Far Eastern gaming cousins and will make an appearance in other territories.
We’ll let you know when we know.
UPDATE: Since writing this article the PS Blog has revealed the whole costume pricing plan going forward, such as:
Premium SackBoy Costume Bundle – $5.99
Similar to the Basic SackBoy Costume Bundle, this premium version consists of four premium costumes for the price of three. All characters in premium bundles will revolve around a certain theme…more info to come in the near future.
We highly recommend checking the link if you’re in any way interested in LittleBigPlanet costumes!

I do not think I will use moneys on extra costumes, but maybe…
I was afraid that something like this would happen. The pricing seems way too high for costumes. And I am not a happy camper with this new “Premium” pricing scheme. First with Themes and now LBP Costumes. (Although I’ll probably pay for some of it)
