Valkyria Chronicles Details Surface At Pre-Launch Event

Welcome back. You're a regular here, so why not follow us on Twitter too...

vk pre Valkyria Chronicles Details Surface At Pre Launch Event We’ve been busy with the relaunch, arguing about the virtues of certain betas, breaking our personal PSN IDs* and pissing off fans of returning British heroines so this one’s fallen through the cracks a little.

Better late than never of course, so – just in case you missed it, there was a Valkyria Chronicles pre-launch event held in September with details lauding the festivities posted over on the PS blog last week.

Of course, posting about how awesome an event that most of us didn’t get to attend is usually received with emotions such as envy and enmity, but we’re happy to report than Christopher Kaminski, US Producer of the game, also took the time to answer some reader penned questions.

Find out why “Skies of Arcadia” characters make an appearance (apparently they weren’t doing anything else at the time and just “dropped by”) and the reasoning behind why the highly praised CANVAS system (the graphics engine that delivers the water-colour aesthetic) was used. Oh, and the future of possible non-Japanese DLC is also hinted at.

Check out the article for much more. The impending (non-Japanese) release comes this Friday for us Europeans and on the 4th of November for you North American fans of tactical role-playing games. A demo of the game is available now from the PlayStation Store.

*Don’t ask.
