Check out the gallery below for five new stills of upcoming vertical-shooter Damnation from developer Blue Omega and Codemasters. Scheduled to hit this winter, Damnation has flown a little under the radar of late though our interest is definitely tweaked if these images are anything to go by.
Due to the very nature of its “vertical” game-play device, the obvious connection to a certain Persian Prince’s axis defying high-flying will be made though it appears Damnation is attempting to forge out its very own genre all by itself.
Novel game-play feature – check. Visually inspired by “iconic elements of American history” – check. “An stoppable arms dealer hell-bent on total world domination” – check. Vehicular acrobatics and daredevil stunts – all present and accounted for.
The images can be found on the official game’s website where you’ll also locate more information about the nature of the game if you’re so inclined. Also keep an eye out for more news from PS3 Attitude about this gravity shunning Americana inspired actioner.

Well here we go with another rewriting of US history.
Resistance gave us the Chimera and now Damnation gives us Steampunk and then some!.
A third person shooter that sits in the same Genre of Jule Verne, H.Gg Wells, and Moore and O’Neils League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.
One to definitely watch out for!
Last outing steampunk had in the gaming world was “Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura” on the PC in 2001.
