BlitzTech bringing true 3D gaming to the console masses?

Submitted by on Tuesday, 2 December 2008No Comment

Blitz Games CEO Andrew Oliver spoke at the recent 3D Entertainment Summit in LA about some super-funky new technological advances the company have been squirreling away on for the past few years. The end goal is to have true stereoscopic gaming a real possibility on the home consoles.

Basically, this means that we could be on the verge of proper 3D gaming; think explosions that not only surround you in an audio sense, but also in a visual sense. “Like what?” I hear you ask…

Think CoD: WAW where you are in the bushes sniping the enemy, or Burnout Paradise where crashes send you diving for the floor to avoid flying tyres. Echochrome

Andrew had this to say on the tech:

“This is an incredibly exciting and huge step forward for videogames. Our BlitzTech technology will prove beyond all doubt that we are already doing what some industry experts have said is impossible on today’s game consoles. Our highly tuned engine is capable of producing real-time interactive graphics that are close to offline rendered CG movie quality.”

If that’s not a statement to get your spider senses tingling then you are emotionally gamedeadâ„¢.
