rock band 11 This Week In Rock Band December 18thThis week in Rock Band brings you all the songs, packs or albums that you will be able to purchase for your favorite band simulator this Thursday (groupies not included but highly recommended).

I can’t believe I’m writing this.  Rock Band is going country…what the hell?

The two of you dreaming for an eventual spin-off titled ‘Country Band’ are in for a treat.  A five track pack is coming your way full of renowned country artists like the Dixie Chicks (pictured) and Brad Paisley.  Grammy Award winners, classic duos and #1 singles will be ready to be downloaded this Thursday.

dixie chicks1 This Week In Rock Band December 18thWhile I’m not a big fan of country music, I enjoy all genres of music and I welcome this latest addition to the Rock Band family.  I must also congratulate this bold move made by Harmonix.

Rock Band is not only the best music game on the market, it is also the one that offers the most interesting variety of genres.  From classic rock to nu metal, from American bands to international acts, and now country.  Yee-haw.

Without further ado, here are this week’s track pack:

  • Brad Paisley “Mud on the Tires”
  • Brooks & Dunn “Hillbilly Deluxe”
  • Dierks Bentley “Free and Easy (Down the Road I Go)”
  • Dixie Chicks “Sin Wagon”
  • Miranda Lambert “Gunpowder & Lead”

Each track will cost the now standard $1.99, while buying the five track pack will come at a discounted price of $8.49.  Remember that all songs are compatible with Rock Band 1 & 2 software and are available through the Rock Band in-game music store and the PlayStation Store.
