The discussion includes hardware sales, price cuts and why he thinks the PS3 will always remain the most expensive console on the market.

There’s no doubt that Sony has made mistakes this generation such as underestimating both Microsoft and Nintendo. Another mistake is relying too much on the brand image and not pumping out enough marketing.
However if you have a look at the bigger picture I think Sony are the smart ones in this console race, and I’m going to tell you why…

Please give a warm welcome and a comforting hot drink (with cookies) to our latest writer, ‘whoelse’.
Whoelse joins PS3 Attitude as a Contributor and will be adding his unique view on the wonderful world of the PlayStation 3 as we take PS3 Attitude through 2009.
Whoelse describes himself as an avid gamer who has a passion for all things PlayStation. He loves his iPod Touch too, and his favourite vegetable is sweetcorn, “because it’s tasty, especially compared to peas… I hate peas!”.

Despite all the negative press about Sony’s profits (or lack of) recently, it appears that they do understand that in a down economy you need to flash some marketing cash to help pull yourself up.
And that is precisely what Sony have planned for Killzone 2 – a £2m spending spree that will see, amongst other things, the neatest sounding web-based game we’ve heard of for some time.

Figurines, art books, soundtracks; it is all good stuff but presentation is key. It is what sets them apart from the rest of the games out there. Ranging close to 1.5x the price of the game itself, are these so called Collector’s Editions worth collecting though?
We take a look at both the usual and unique items in Collector’s Editions and whether they are deemed fit to be worthy of their name…

The most exciting part of the announcement however is that poplar “peg-themed” title Peggle will also finally see a PSN outing.

A lot has been written about the PS3’s ‘weak’ sales and the never-ending (it seems) battle with Microsoft’s Xbox 360.

But what are the facts? Armed with some interesting new details from our friends at Gamezine, and a smattering of our own research, we take a deeper look…

Take a look at 7 new screenshots for the upcoming FUEL. It looks like we have some expansive environmental landscapes to gawk at including lightning, a tornado, and possibly and earthquake?
We especially love the attention to the rider details on the bikes. The gritty look of their clothes is crisp and defined, just as it is on the vehicles as well. Check out the rest of the screens after the jump…

Prince of Persia was probably the last great game of 2008 to be released but that doesn’t stop it from having a fantastic 2009. We knew that Ubisoft had some big plans for the Prince’s future but we had no idea they were this big. The DLC, set to hit the PSN Store on February 26, continues directly from where the original story ended.
In addition to continuing the storyline, the Epilogue pack will add a new power for Elika, an attack for the Prince, new locations and enemies, and 2 bonus skins for when you complete it. IGN interviewed Jamal Rguigui, Associate Producer for the Epilogue DLC, and here’s what he had to say…
