New Wet images leave us soaked in anticipation
Welcome back. You're a regular here, so why not follow us on Twitter too...
We’ll be touching upon Wet in the fourth part of our Games of 2009 feature (as the list is alphabetical there’s no conspiracy here) but, before then, we’re thinking you might like to see some new screens.
Originally posted up at Illuminate Labs (a company that focuses on lighting software like the popular Turtle and Beast suites), the images show sexy Rubi throwing herself into acrobatic maneuvers as she dispenses with numerous opponents. Check after the break for the five-shot gallery.
Of course, Brodiesan, unable to resist translating any and all kanji he sees in screenshots, has attempted the usual linguistic service once again but, alas, Rubi’s tattoos in the final pic are quite blurred and incomplete. One does mean “human” however. Take from this tiny revelation whatever meaning you wish.

Ok, don’t hold me to this but … I think the first kanji symbol is actually “han” which can mean squad, corps, unit or group.
Looks like Rubi is part of some type of “organisation”.
Have the developers found a publisher yet? I was a bit disappointed (only because I think it has potential to be a great game) when ActivisionBlizzard didn’t pick this title up when they aquired Sierra during their merger. I’ve occasionally checked the WET forums on the old Sierra site for news after the merger and found nothing. The WET forums are now listed as “This forum is for Sierra Employees Only” http://forums.vgames.com/category.jspa?categoryID=97 Maybe it will still see a 2009 release.
Yeah, it was dropped when the merger happened but the game was so far long that it really didn’t make any sense to cancel it.
Think Ghostbusters and Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena. Remember how Atari swooped in for them at the last minute to publish them? We’re pretty sure something like that will happen for Wet.
You have encouraged me to find out more however so we’ve dropped a line to Sierra to see if they’re willing to go on the record.
We’ll keep you posted if we hear anything (no promises, sometimes studios literally can’t talk about the more business side of things).
It’s a pity actually, since WET seems to have great potential. Let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best!
