FUEL gets release date; game-play footage surfaces

If you were to mosey over to Codemaster’s FUEL web-site today you would be in for a pleasant surprise.
We’ve already spoken about the huge terrain available in the off-road racer and how adverse weather is joining the many wheel-based adversaries in its attempts to keep you from crossing the finish line in first place.
Now however, we have some actual game-play footage to mull over. Check after the jump for more hinterland vehicular tomfoolery.
First up is just when you’ll be getting your hands on Asobo Studio’s new adrenaline charged racer and it looks like there’s only a few months to wait with the game scheduled to hit in May.
The game-play footage is compelling and will obviously be compared with MotorStorm: Pacific Rift – and for good reason. The premise is similar, the aesthetics close to one another and, from what we can see from the brief glimpse on offer, the game-play is not a million miles apart either.
Will FUEL be a viable challenge to the off-road anarchy throne currently occupied by the MotorStorm franchise? We’ll find out in three months.
