212full metal jacket 001 Full Metal Socom Boot CampYou may be greeted by this message the next time you log in to the SOCOM blog*:

I’m David “Point Man” Brothers, your senior drill instructor, from now on you will speak only when spoken to, and the first and the last word out of your filthy sewers will be “Sir”. Do you maggots understand that?  Bull$#!% I can’t hear you. Sound off like you got a pair!

The SOCOM team is through “messing around” as they say.  Read on to find out how they plan to make men out of you, in a strictly military sense of course.  Wait, that still sounds weird…

Welcome to SOCOM Boot Camp.  This will be a place where new recruits can get their feet wet and veterans can discuss battle tested strategies.  If you ever felt a little lost during a battle, unsure as to how to get the most kills or just trying not to get blown away during the first 10 seconds of gameplay, then this is the place for you.

Hey buddy, have you seen a sniper around here?

First up in the Boot Camp is Crossroads.  Starting today and spanning for a couple of weeks, each game mode for crossroads will be broken down one day at a time; Suppression and Elimination in one day and Escort/Extraction in another.

But since SOCOM went 2.0 recently with a slew of new community features, this will be a full fledged SOCOM community project as well.  Each Boot Camp will have a link to a forum post where the entire SOCOM community can discuss and contribute their own tips and strategies.

It’s time to put your military might to the test. Now if you’ll excuse me, we have to brush up on my military knowledge.  I know that this is my rifle and this is my gun, but I can’t remember which one’s for fighting and which one’s for fun…
