Burnout 3D not so new
In a follow up to our previous story on Sunday, it turns out Sky reported on Criterion Games producing Burnout Paradise 3D a little while ago.
Burnout Paradise is currently available in 3D for PC owners who have purchased special TVs or monitors with 100Hz or higher.
The Guardian’s Nick Gillett put the technology through its paces for them. This is what he had to say:
It’s absolutely incredible, more real than any other 3D thing I’ve played before…It’s feels a lot more solid, a lot more real… I’d find it surprising if it revolutionised gaming but it’s the kind of thing that will turn heads.
The England-based developers also gave their thoughts on 3D Burnout:
We were blown away when we saw it. We just couldn’t really take it in. Totally unexpected, a really refreshing surprise and something we’re really excited about.
Sony were clearly happy to show Burnout in 3D on their North American monthly interactive magazine, which is why we ask ourselves whether Burnout in 3D is planned to arrive on the PS3 in the future too.
Many thanks to tonyt3rry for the tip…
