Eden Encore coming April; PixelJunk #4 “flying along”

Submitted by Brodiesan on Friday, 20 March 20094 Comments

Welcome back. You're a regular here, so why not follow us on Twitter too...

EdenNow that Dylan Cuthbert has put of all us trigger-happy games journalists in our collective place, it’s safe to say that PixelJunk’s next title will not feature at GDC (ed: or will it?).

Posting over at the official PlayStation blog, Dylan was good enough to take some time out of his manic schedule and update us about just what is coming from Q-Games in the coming months.

First up we we have confirmation that PixelJunk Eden Encore, which is similar to stable mate Monster’s Encore insomuch that it is basically a redux of the original game, is coming very soon. This April, Dylan sets the scene with:

Get ready for zero gravity, mirror worlds, all new music from Baiyon, and we’ve added something extra special at the end which is a Big Secret™ and is a present to all the fans.

We’re not sure what this secretive gift might be but feel free to postulate in the comments section below.

In other PJ news, Dylan is also proud to announce that Eden has picked up three IGF (Independent Games Festival) nominations along with being put forward for GDC’s own Choice Award.

Finally, not wanting to completely ignore the elephant in the corner, Dylan confirms that not only is PixelJunk #4 “flying along” but the team are also putting some groundwork in and are “experimenting with future PixelJunk ideas too.”

Viva la PixelJunk!
