Next PixelJunk game to be revealed at GDC – UPDATED

Submitted by on Thursday, 19 March 20094 Comments

More Pixeljunk InboundMTV Multiplayer have reported on a recent Sony press invite sent to all journalists who will be attending the Game Developers Conference next week that Dylan Cuthbert, the mastermind behind the PixelJunk franchise, will be demonstrating the next game in the popular PSN only series during this year’s event.

It’s that time of the year again when game developers pull themselves away from their own creations, let their hair down (if they have any left) and marvel at what their fellow peers are creating. It’s also a great opportunity for producers of upcoming titles to reveal to a crowd of like minded individuals just what they and their diligent teams have been furtively working on in such secret locations as Kyoto, Japan. This is exactly what Dylan Cuthbert, founder of Q-Games, plans to do.

This year, starting on March 23rd and running until the 27th, the GDC will be held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. PS3 Attitude will be reporting on the event and we’ll be sure to let you know more about Q-Games’ next chapter in the PJ phenomenon as soon Dylan takes to the stage, controller in hand, on the penultimate day of the event (Thursday).

OK, maybe a little bit after he takes to the stage. We’re not omnipresent and hence can’t write history the second it happens. Though we have tried …

Update: Dylan has noticed the news flying around the web and his updated via Twitter stating:

“Everyone seems to think we are showing PixelJunk 1-4 next week at GDC.. but it ain’t true.. Eden Encore will be there in its full glory tho … ”

Eden Encore is still great in our books but we’re eager to get a look at the next chapter. Maybe he’ll surprise us.
