Next Watchmen chapter to add sex, little else

Submitted by on Saturday, 14 March 2009No Comment

Rorschach is coming backAfter our lambasting of Watchmen: The End is Nigh for being hackneyed, repetitive and downright unimaginative, we were hoping that the follow-up chapter to the downloadable series would freshen things up a little on a few obvious fronts.

For example, new characters.

As much as we love Walter “I’m not trapped in here with you, you’re trapped in here with me!” Kovacs and, to a lesser extent, Dan “What happened to the American dream?” Dreiberg  (Rorschach and Nite Owl respectively), we really would have liked to have seen some Silk Spectre or, even more controversial than a woman barely wearing some yellow and black spandex, everyone’s favourite sociopath, The Comedian.

Check after the break for what we’ll be offered instead. For those of you already disappointed from reading the above, please note that this chapter still might be saved, especially when you remember the old adage: sex sells.

Rated over at the ESRB, the second episode of “The End is Nigh” concerns our two returning heroes attempting to track down an “adult” actress “molested” by a certain villain. Expect strip clubs, go-go dancers in cages and adult material “playing in the background.” We’re not sure how this is going to pan out considering “no nudity or sexual acts are depicted”, but we’re assuming it will be titillating without actually showing anything.

Damn, and we were hoping for a forty foot blue CGI penis.

Watchmen: The End is Nigh – Chapter II currently has no release date. Here’s hoping they spend a little more time on it than the first episode and deliver a more rounded and polished game.
