Bethesda gets WET. WET gets Dushku.
Welcome back. You're a regular here, so why not follow us on Twitter too...
Creating one of 2008’s games of the year gives you some clout in the industry.
Not content with ferrying out development duties of Fallout: New Vegas to Obsidian Entertainment, it appears Bethesda will continue to strengthen their publishing activities and pick up the distribution duties of the “Lazarus of the gaming world”: WET.
A victim of the Actiblizzard merger, many thought WET wouldn’t see the light of day but, not only is it coming in Q3 of this year, the katana wielding and allround über-babe protagonist Rubi Malone has also gained a voice in the form of Dollhouse star Eliza Dushku.
Did I fall asleep? Is it time for a treatment?
Vlatko Andonov, president of Bethesda Softworks, is ecstatic about the arrangement.
“We’re very excited about the opportunity to bring WET to all gamers. Our proven success as a publisher which focuses on select, innovative titles matches up perfectly with WET’s new class of gameplay.”
A2M’s Creative Director, Patrick Fortier, is also pretty pleased with the deal, mentioning Bethesda’s “impressive track record” and how Bethesda shares their “creative vision”. We’re betting he’s just happy the game is getting a release at all.
Also, that 70’s feel you may have got from the last video released was intentional it seems as we’re told the game will have a unique retro vibe with a 70’s styled sountrack. Wocka-chicka slice!
We’ve also added some new screenshots from WET which include a look at “Rage mode”. It’s, well, quite red.

I’m glad to hear WET finally has a new publisher. Lazarus of the gaming world indeed.
