Guerrilla hints at Killzone 3 technology

killzone2 bullet Guerrilla hints at Killzone 3 technologyOur NA compatriots might be already oohing and aahing at the “Behind the Bullet” interactive demo we mentioned yesterday but, for the rest of us, we’re left in the dark at just what the feature actually presents to the rabid Killzone fan-base.

Never leaving any man behind, our friends over at Gamezine have dissected the “Killzone in 4D” piece.

Lo and behold, if you listen closely to the accompanying commentary from the Guerrilla gang, you’ll be privy to some of the cool tech that, though present in the trailer since it was developed after finishing the final product, didn’t make the actual game.

Not ones to rest on their laurels, effects such as high frequency detail mapping – the technology behind realistic cloth simulation – and authentic (though apparently not actually real) puddle reflections are features earmarked for “their next game”.

By the time Killzone 3 surfaces we’re sure the developers will have unlocked even more fantastic graphical wonders than simple fancy cloth and shiny puddles, but it’s nice to hear that they’re looking to the future nonetheless.
