Hellion – Mystery of the Inquisition site launches

HellionThere must be something in the water out there in Poland.

Joining CD Projekt Red Studio’s “The Witcher” in the medieval monster-hunting stakes is Flying Fish Work’s newly announced “Hellion: Mystery of the Inquisition”.

Based in Bydgoszcz, the studio are hard at work building “an historical fiction game that will put you in the center of the medieval world, full of its cruelty, intransigence and diversified beliefs.”

You had us at “cruelty”.

Heresy and religious oppression will be key factors with players, members of the “new inquisition”, performing exorcisms, facing off against devils and heretics alike all the while sinking deeper in to the political and religious intrigue of the time. We’re also promised “Templar knights, deadly assassins and, ultimately, horrifying demons”, the very things we come to expect in a game from Poland these days.

Promising “an extraordinary First-Person-Shooter set in the 13th century”, we’re intrigued to know more about Hellion. If the artwork is anything to go by, this game could be both topical and a frightening insight into the madness of what was medieval fanaticism and subjugation. If demons and exorcisms were real of course. (ed: they’re not?)

Check out the site for some concept art and, if the release is accurate, some “insider information”.
