PlayStation Home Star Trek competition announced

Submitted by on Saturday, 25 April 20092 Comments

starfleetOn Thursday we saw the launch of the Star Trek outfits in the European PlayStation Home Threads store.

A new announcement has revealed there is more to it than we first thought.

Paramount are running a brand new competition where they encourage you to dress up as either Kirk, Uhura, or Sulu from the new film.

TedTheDog from the EU PlayStation Home team has uploaded a press release onto the forums detailing the competition.

To take part, you must visit the Threads store from the Shopping Centre, and dress your avatar in one of the three Star Trek uniforms.

Next, take a photo with a digital camera of a front close-up headshot, a side-on headshot, and a full body shot. Maybe Sony could implement a screenshot facility into Home in the future?

All entries must be uploaded to their Flicker group by 7pm GMT on Friday the 1st of May. The following Friday the winners for each character will be announced on the Silverscreen blog and European PlayStation Home forum.

For full details, visit the press release here.

So pop into Home, put on a costume, and customise your avatar away. Remember; all the gear is free so you don’t have to worry about the price.

No prizes have been announced, although there will be a party in Home on the 8th of May where anyone wearing the Starfleet uniforms will have the chance to grab some exclusive Star Trek gifts. Ace!
