PixelJunk 1-4 footage a thing of wonder; and you could name the game

PixelJunk1-4Like ravenous hyenas eyeing a distant prey, we’ve sat for days, unmoving and eager for any sign of more information about PixelJunk’s unnamed 1-4 title.

Thanks to our friends over at The Sixth Axis, we now have our first glimpse at how the new game looks in motion. And boy is it beautiful.

We can’t express how big a fan we are of the Kyoto based indie developer, nor the amount of time we’ve dropped on Racers, Monsters and, especially, Eden. With this footage of 1-4 surfacing however, we get the feeling that this cycle of addiction won’t be broken anytime soon.

The trailer shows a subterranean world full of natural forces such as lava, water and earth. Capable of being destroyed, the destructive natural of the soil also allows the other elements to run freely about the environment. You fit in by navigating a tiny mote around these tumultuous surroundings, combating adversaries who appear to also have control of numerous forces like water and fire.

It looks wonderful with the water animation standing out as something truly special to behold.

And, if the trailer wasn’t enough, you also have the chance to go down in gaming history by actually naming the new game. Go here and submit your ideas. Considering the previous games all have single word titles, we reckon a similar naming convention has the best chance of winning. Good luck.
