Today, a mysterious countdown site has gone live. We know, we know, countdown sites are quite boring and usually build unnecessary hype. But come on, this is Marvel vs. Capcom 2 we’re talking about, one of the greatest fighters to grace the PS2.

How do we know this you ask? Well, let’s take a look at the facts…

For starters, the URL of the site is www.tu4ar.com. While that might not mean anything to you, fans of the game might have the character select music come to mind, “Take You For A Ride.”

The countdown is also set to end in about six and a half days, which is around the time Capcom’s annual gaming expo, CAPTIVATE ’09, is set to begin. Coincidence? We think not.

If you’re still not convinced, you can head over to The Game Reviews and read what they have to say. They did some digging and found out some information regarding the domain and data transfers, all leading to MvC2.

I guess we’ll find out what exactly is going on in six days. Maybe it’s a complete HD remake in the same vein as Street Fighter 2 or just a port to the PSN. Until then, all we can do is wait and dream.
