Resident Evil 5 DLC gets escape date and price.
The last time we posted about the Resident Evil 5 DLC, we caused a bit of a stir.
Now the game is finally out and in the wild, so to speak, it might be a safe time to let you guys know what you can expect to pay for the first piece of downloadable content for the game. Without wanting to incite rage and mouth-frothing, we have the specifics of the release date and price of the multiplayer add-on.
So will you be shelling* out your hard-earned on this shiny new extra?
The Versus Mode is heading to the US PSN this Thursday and will cost you $4.99. EU and other regions are still TBA, but it’s probably safe to assume that there will be a similar pricing structure.
As we all know, the Versus mode grants up to four players one of two modes; Slayer’s Rule and Survivor’s Rule.
In Slayer’s Rule, players compete to notch up the highest number of Majini kills. In Survivor’s Rule, the game is basically ‘Team Deathmatch’ in either one-on-one or two-on-two flavours.

Let's be honest; we've ALL thought about shooting Redfield in the head
It ought to be pointed out that the Versus mode is completely new and has not been a feature in any other RE game to date. This is a definite extra over and above the main game, which could explain the reason for the paid-for aspect of the DLC.
At the same time, announcing the DLC prior to the release of the game? Perhaps slightly poor taste in hindsight.
