Star Trek D-A-C to launch soon
Paramount have announced today that Star Trek D-A-C (we still have no idea what this stands for but we dutifully note the addition of hyphens) will be hitting the PSN “shortly”. With the XBL version beaming down in May, we expect this to mean possibly the following month or so.
As mentioned in our Redux article, D-A-C allows players to take control of a variety of space-craft from the beloved space opera and engage in “thrilling combat.”
With the Prime Directive, comely alien maidens in need of “debriefing” and odd creatures requiring “destruction” appropriately ignored, fans of the franchise can enjoy the simpler side of cosmic diplomacy and concentrate on what really matters: phasers and photon torpedoes.
The game offers three modes; single-player, online multi and online co-op, with up to 12 players squaring off in team combat. All modes have Team Deathmatch, Assault and Conquest game types with players choosing between three ship classes: the trusty Flagship, a more nifty Fighter and the tank of the group – the Bomber – a roster that suggests a varied, and definitely combative, experience.
For those interested, we’ve added a gallery below to show what the final frontier will look like for the daring few who sign up for Starfleet duty.
