You know Twtitter has arrived when even influential TV moguls have started using it.

We just hope that the recurring trend of Oprah mentioning something; a book, a movie, an album, whatever – and that product or service to then go through the roof popularity wise – will not cause Twitter’s already creaking servers to collapse under the weight of a billion soccer-Mom updates.

We’re been twittering like crazy for a while now and it never ceases to amaze us just what kind of cool information can appear in 140 characters or less.

Like the following: Evan Wells, Co-President of Naughty Dog, set the twitterverse alight just 17 hours ago with the following pithy, yet unbearably intriguing, update:

“The demo’s getting closer…”

With Uncharted 2 hitting our shelves at the end of this year, it’s not too grand a leap to think a demo of Drake’s next adventure will be in our hands over the next few months. It’s highly likely that whatever they’re working on, we’ll get a glimpse at E3.

If you check some of Evan’s other updates, you’ll notice that the Dogs have been performing play-tests recently, incorporating testers’ feedback from the sessions into the next iteration of the build of the game. This is a sure sign that something will soon be ready for mass consumption.

Interestingly, Evan also mentions that they “[...] have a busy few days in front of us. The most important deadline so far on Uncharted 2 is right around the corner!” Does this allude once again to the elusive demo? It could be, considering unleashing your baby on to the public so they can get a taste (and for the developers to gauge their feedback) would be a significant milestone. We’re not sure when an Uncharted 2 demo might surface – smart money would be around fall – but at least this snippet does confirm one thing – we’ll be getting one someday.

Update: The Official PlayStation guys had shed some light on this. There is a demo to journalists next week. We’re assuming Evan and the gang are frantically getting everything for that. This is not to say an Uncharted 2 demo won’t happen for the rest of us of course …
