Capcom partners with Sumthing Else Music Works for video game soundtracks
Usually OSTs are only available in Japan and anyone else must import them if they want to hear the music of the games they love. Well not any more, for Americans at least. Partnering with Sumthing Else Music Works, Capcom will be releasing soundtracks to our favorite games including Resident Evil, Street Fighter, Bionic Commando, Dead Rising, and Monster Hunter.
No Mega Man or Devil May Cry? Perhaps we’ll see those in the future.
“We are very excited to partner with Capcom in bringing their video game soundtracks to the North American market,†said Andy Uterano, President of Sumthing Else Music Works. “Our mission as a label is to support and enhance the lifestyle experience of the gamer by offering the latest and greatest soundtracks so they can enjoy and revisit their favorite gaming moments through the music.â€
Sumthing Distribution will release these albums in both physical CDs as well as digitally via iTunes or Sumthing Digital. Should sales go well, maybe we’ll see some of our favorite games from other companies follow suit.
