Fallout 3 Operation: Anchorage In June; More DLC Coming
It took a while but here it is at last. The previously Xbox 360 exclusive Fallout 3 downloadable content is coming to the PlayStation Network.
Starting with Operation: Anchorage in late June, Fallout 3 fans will receive every previously released Fallout 3 DLC. The Pitt is set to debut in the PS Store four to six weeks later, Broken Steel four to six weeks after that. In order to get Fallout 3 DLC ready, a new update will be released for the PlayStation 3 version.
On top of all this, Bethesda Softworks announced two brand new DLCs for all three platforms.
The first one is Point Lookout: players will get to “explore a massive new swampland area filled with new quests and content”. Point Lookout will be available through the PlayStation Network after the first three add-ons have been released.
The second is Mothership Zeta, where you will have an encounter of the kind you would most definitely want to avoid: “The aliens have returned, and they’re pissed. Experience an alien abduction first hand and find out if you’re tough enough to survive.” Mothership Zeta will be available after Point Lookout is released.
It would seem obvious that some kind of exclusivity deal is in place with Microsoft, since the two new packs will be released in late June and late July for Xbox 360 and PC. But as the old adage goes: “A gentleman never asks, a lady never tells.”
Finally a Fallout 3 Game of the Year Edition was announced today with an October release date. It will include the original game plus all five add-ons for $59.99/£39.99/€59.99.
This is great news for Fallout 3 fans and gamers waiting to get into this massive RPG experience. Will you gobble the new DLC one at a time or wait for October for the whole package?
