LBP DLC Makes With The Scares
Ghouls, goblins, vampires and monsters. We all love the critters, no matter how much they want to suck our blood or grind our bones for bread. Or squeeze the jelly from our eyes.
We find it works quite well on toast. Oh no, wait. That’s ogres. Silly me…
Anyhoo, this Thursday we have a bumper package of LittleBigPlanet DLC crawling out of the bowels of the PSN.
But this is no normal downloadable content. We are getting the first of a new type of pack this week – one which will add to the current DLC canon, as well as provide far better value for money. What makes this particular package so special? Well gather round children, and I shall tell thee a tale…
Once upon a time, there was a wonderful game called LittleBigPlanet. Everyone loved the frolicksome sackboys and sackgirls inhabiting this land of fluff and make-believe.
Even though the sack-boys and sack-girls had fought hard against greedy tyrants and warmongering psychopaths, they lived a happy (if somewhat expressive) existence. There were more fantastical worlds to explore than there were enough hours in the day to play them all.
Then, one fateful day, Media Molecule – the gods of this universe – unleashed a terrible evil unto the land. All the lands became awash with misery and degradation. Even the Sack-people had transformed into awful creatures and were forced to roam the worlds in dispair. That fateful day will be Thursday.
Shadows are looming darkly on the horizon for the sack-folk.
An era of unimaginable monstrosity is almost upon them…
The Monster Kit DLC pack will be available in all good PSN stores this Thursday, and will include stickers, objects, sounds, a new music track and a gallery level to introduce you to the various new items contained in the pack. This will be one of a new series of what MM are calling ‘medium DLC’ packs.Â
This works out at much better value for money in our honest opinion. It’s nice to see new music and sounds make an appearance, too. We just have to wait and see what the gaming masses come up with once the items are out in the wild. Sorry - running wild…
The ‘Monster Kit’ will cost $3.99/€3.99.
Also coming  this Thursday is the Monster Pack, which contains the four costumes seen alongside what looks like the gallery level in the video up at the top of the page.
The ‘Monster Pack’ will cost $2.99/€2.99.
Will you be lining up at the PSN’s virtual doors to get in early on this lot? I know I will, and no doubt I’ll see you there!
