Six super Split/Second screens on show

Submitted by on Monday, 11 May 2009One Comment

Split SecondSome new screens of Black Rock Studio’s upcoming potential Burnout-beater Split/Second have whisked their way across our desks and, never ones to keep awesome new screens of games to ourselves, we’ve captured them here for your ocular dissection.

What immediately comes to mind is the palette Black Rock have chosen as, oddly enough, the colours on show (and the design of the cars themselves) immediately remind us of the cover of Burnout Paradise.

However, what’s not abundantly clear from the new pics is just what are captures from what could be the opening intro movie, and what is actually freeze-frames from in-game footage. With tell-tale “black borders” on some of the images, we’re thinking it might be a mix of both or perhaps even none from the latter group at all. Considering the press release merely quotes “screens” and not “in-game footage”, you’ll have to make up your own minds.

Split/Second marries the fast past genre of competitive racing with the added bonus of destructible environments and car-combat. It’s planned for a release early next year.
