E3 09; Brink Teaser

TowerBethesda Softworks and Splash Damage. Immediately synonymous with words like ‘quality’, ‘immersion’ and ‘Fallout’.

Best known for their massively successful Fallout and Elder Scrolls franchises, Bethesda recently announced that the company was working with Splash Damage to bring a new intellectual property screaming and kicking into the world.

Titled Brink, very little is known about the game so far. The teaser trailer – released a few days back – gives very little away. But we did some digging for you knowing that just the teaser wasn’t enough.

Guess what we found?Images! More precisely screen shots - and pretty ones at that.

On the Brink website you’ll find the teaser trailer along with the screens and concept art, but that’s about it just now. Going on the teaser itself, we believe it’s safe to assume that there will be shooting. Lots of shooting.

Particularly when that’s the main sound you hear while viewing said website.

The teaser makes mention of ‘The Ark’ – perhaps referring to the vast tower visible in the opening seconds. Now we aren’t normally given to conjecture or random guesswork, but the ark could refer to the biblical Noah’s ArkWhat happened to President Obama during Ubisoft’s press conference? in which two of every animal were placed to survive a flood.

Also, the character in the teaser refers to the fact that it was salvation for some, but not all.

We had a root around the Splash Damage website and came up with even more details:

BRINK is an immersive shooter that blends single-player, co-op, and multiplayer game play into one seamless experience, allowing you to develop your character across all modes of play. You decide the role you want to assume in the world of BRINK as you fight to save yourself and mankind’s last refuge for humanity. BRINK offers a compelling mix of dynamic battlefields, extensive customization options, and an innovative control system that will keep you coming back for more.

Given the pedigree involved here, we can honestly say that we believe every word.

Hopefully we wont be proven wrong come Spring 2010 when the game hits shelves.
