E3 09; Metal Gear Solid Rising announced
Speaking at Microsoft’s keynote speech at E3 (which is still going on by the way) Hideo Kojima took to the stage and announced the bombshell that is a MGS game coming to the 360.
Don’t worry folks, for one, this is not the “MGS4 coming to the 360” announcement that’s been doing the rounds since the dawn of time. Nor was there any mention that the game is exclusive to the 360 (and, let’s face it, it would be pretty insane not to release it on as many consoles as possible).
Entitled Metal Gear Rising, the other important factor about the title is that Snake will not feature. Instead, players will take on the role of Raiden in what is described as Lightning Bolt Action, a significant shift away from Metal Gear Solid’s previous tag-line of “Tactical Espionage Action”.
As more details of the game (and whether it’s also confirmed for the PS3 or not) come in – expect us to report on it quick-smart.
