MGS4/MGO celebrates one year anniversary; breaks out the bikinis – UPDATED
After teasing us for what felt like decades, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, in conjunction with Metal Gear Online – Konami’s online tactical simulator set in the Metal Gear universe -Â is finally released to the ravenous masses.
Twelve months later and as its first anniversary loomed, more and more people voiced their wishes regarding how they thought Konami should celebrate this massive milestone. With new content and packs for MGO appearing since the game’s initial launch, it was a safe bet to assume that the powers that be at Konami would have at least something up their sleeves for the big “I am one” event.
Unfortunately, if you (like everyone else) were hoping the new content would be trophy support for both MGS4 and MGO – we have some bad news. If, on the other hand, you have a penchant for breasts – this just might be your lucky day.
One year on and people still extol the virtues of what many consider to be the final chapter in the Solid series. Sure, MGS: Rising still contains the “S” part of Konami’s stellar franchise, but with Raiden taking over lead character duties, many are unsure how the game will fit as part of the overall (and stupendously complicated) Metal Gear history. Also, though we can’t wait for Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker on the PSP, we have no problem admitting that we want another PS3 game featuring everyone’s favourite covert neck-snapper, Snake. In the meantime, we’ll just have to be content with new MGO content.
Bikini DLC, two words we never thought we’d see ourselves writing, is now available for Metal Gear Online. Please note: you must own at least the GENE Expansion pack to avail of the skimpy (and completely impractical on the battle-field) attire. If you’re wondering what the swim-wear looks like – and who isn’t? – check out the embedded movie below.
Yes, we foresee our chosen female character crouching, standing up and then crouching again in rapid succession a lot over the next few days. And if that last sentence makes little sense right now – you’ll understand after clicking play below.
Update: Kotaku have reported that Konami plan to announce “highly anticipated announcements” all week in relation to Metal Gear Solid turning the big “one”. Could that equate to the much sought after trophy update? Sure as hell sounds like it in our book. We’ll just have to wait and see as the week plays out.
