Managing to ensnare Capcom’s Frank Filice for some Lost Planet 2 brain drainage, “Friend of the site” Jeff Rubenstein went straight for the jugular and brought up the one thing most PS3 fans would like to mention to the developer of the first game – it just wasn’t good enough.
So, with the sequel confirmed for the PS3 during Jack Tretton’s address yesterday, just what can the demanding and, let’s face it, slightly peeved Sony fans expect from the icy follow-up?
Though Sony decided not to bang the Heavy Rain drum again during yet another keynote speech yesterday, that’s not to say Quantic Dream’s adult thriller is not at E3 causing up a storm. And in case you won’t take our word for it, we’ve got it here for you to consume and contemplate courtesy of VG247.
An introduction to the many characters of the game, the footage also appears to focus on the discovery of a body in connection to what we’ve become to know as “The Origami Killer”. With stunning visuals and themes that definitely smack of maturity and a touch of sexuality, our interest remains suitably piqued.
It’s also an intriguing insight into a property Quantic Dream’s David Cage is purporting as an important game for an industry that must “grow up” and is sure to influence games and the industry in general for years to come.
Following the gameplay demo shown at the E3 Press Conference, Naughty Dog have released the official E3 trailer.
The snow is predictably beautiful, and we get our first glimpse of some new characters. Not only that, we get a good look at some of the environments in which our intrepid hero finds himself throughout the course of the game.
Best known for their massively successful Fallout and Elder Scrolls franchises, Bethesda recently announced that the company was working with Splash Damage to bring a new intellectual property – ‘Brink’ – screaming and kicking into the world.
Final Fantasy XIV was announced at the E3 Sony Press Conference alongside a great trailer. We have managed to get said trailer and even some screens of the game. With the news that this game will be out in 2010 still echoing in the conference hall, we have just one question: Why are you not ogling that sweet, sweet footage yet?
Koei have taken on Greek history in the new title, Warriors – Legends of Troy. But what can we expect from the game? Massive battles are assured, no doubt. Play as a Hero? Most likely. Outcries of ‘THIS IS SPARTA!’? …hopefully not. All we have just now is a teaser trailer, but don’t let that stop you – it’s very good!
It looks like the recently announced Xbox 360 exclusive song for Beatles Rock Band, “All You Need Is Love,” is not so exclusive after all. In speaking with Jeff Castaneda of MTV Games, PS3 Attitude asked if the PlayStation 3 would be seeing any love. Instead of the usual ‘no comment’ we expected, we were actually surprised by what he said…
We were hoping for news of the service to come out of the Sony E3 conference, and it didn’t, but luckily Sony Europe has just announced separately that Vidzone will finally launch next week on the 11th of June.
Vidzone is an online music video service free for the PS3 and we have got really excited after watching recent hands-on experiences from both Gamespot and CVG.
When the lights went down in the Shrine Auditorium we admit one simple thought crossed our minds: how are Sony going to top Microsoft’s killer presentation from the day before.
From the new NATAL technology to Milo to the Modern Warfare 2 timed exclusive content, we admit to thinking Sony were going to stumble and let us down a little.
How wrong we were. Sit back and forgive us the staccato nature of its presentation but here’s all the big announcements Jack Tretton and friends bestowed upon us at Sony’s 2009 E3 conference.
A visual feast for the eyes, Avatar promises to confirm what we already kind of knew: when it comes to big budget groundbreaking cinematic experiences – no one does it quite like James Cameron.
Ubisoft have been hard at work on a game companion (read: shameless tie-in) for the movie with what we’ve heard described as an MMO. We’ve only seen concept art up until now but, lucky us, we’re finally getting a glimpse of what the game, and by association the movie, will look like.
Tecmo have justed released a trailer for their up-and-coming PS3 exclusive Ninja Gaiden Sigma II that releases this fall, or Autumn if you live outside of North America.
After seeing the trailer for ourselves, we’re a bit disappointed with the graphics and it looks more like something from the start of the PS3 timeline rather than within the third year.
You are not imagining things. The brand which has conquered Indiana Jones and Star Wars is now taking on a new challenge; Rock Band. We have a trailer to prove it and everything! What else can you expect to come to a Rock Band game when you add LEGO? Bricks. Lots and lots of bricks…
EA had quite the showing during their press conference yesterday. It was filled with trailers, guest appearances, and live demos. In case you missed it, we live blogged the event straight from the audience. Here’s a quick recap of the announcements made…
Our friends over at the official PS blog (well, we like to think we’re on friendly terms at least) have reported about a certain beta we’re sure a lot of you are itching to get your treasure seeking hands on.
Starting this Wednesday or, using the parlance of the masses, “tomorrow”, Naughty Dog’s Uncharted 2 beta will commence
LittleBigPlanet is the game that just keeps giving.
First there was the game itself. Then the DLC costumes. Followed by the MGS add-on. Some more costumes. And most recently the Monster Pack.
It seems that MM are preparing the release of some sort of DLC relating to one of the single most under-rated games of the last generation, ICO.
Hot off the press, we have just managed to get a look at the Assassin’s Creed 2 cinematic from their E3 Conference.
Granted, it may just be a cinematic, but there are some interesting aspects of the video worth pointing out.
The latest trailer for BioWare and EA’s upcoming RPG masterpiece, Dragon Age: Origins, has been released into the wild ahead of E3. In case you are wondering what all the fuss is about – this is from the guys who brought us Mass Effect and Baldur’s Gate.
Ubisoft is sure to be a hit this E3. We have Assassin’s Creed 2 and Beyond Good and Evil 2 to look forward to. We’re here in downtown LA waiting for it to begin. Will we be seeing Jade Raymond on the stage today? We most certainly think so. So join us as we live blog the Ubisoft E3 09 Press Conference.
Welcome to the first of many Live Blog events of E3 09! EA is about to begin their presentation here at The Orpheum Theatre in downtown Los Angeles. Some of the games we expect to …
