SOCOM v1.50, v1.60 and Downloadable Content

Submitted by on Wednesday, 24 June 2009No Comment

SOCOMIt seems like an eternity since the v1.50 patch was announced for SOCOM, and we have some more news on it, but still no release date.

According to the developers, thanks to the “scope of the feature set” in the update, testing has taken longer than expected.

They of course want the patch to be 100% bug free and ready for human consumption, so they will keep testing it out until it is ready. Unfortunately they have given no rough guesstimate to when the update will finally land, which is frustrating and annoying.

But they are already starting to talk about v1.60 that will incorporate “additional features and content”, but of course based on their record we won’t be hoping for the patch to hit too soon.

The good news is that there will be free downloadable content with the v1.60 patch in the form of new special forces including two new primary weapons, and four additional weapons available for everyone.

Finally a “major” content pack is set to be announced before the end of the month so we look forward to hearing about that.
