Vandal Hearts: Flames of JudgmentFans of old school tactical turn-based RPGs, prepare to have something to celebrate.

If Final Fantasy VII getting a release on the PSN wasn’t enough, new details of the prequel to the 1996 classic Vandal Hearts, shunning the number system and simply going with Vandal Hearts: Flames of Judgment, have been released.

Set on the continent of Sostegaria (sounds like a nasty infection to us), the PSN title features your typical classic struggle as young adventurer Tobias Martin (sounds like a Latin boy-band member to us) rallies his church orphanage friends together to fight an unstoppable warrior. An unstoppable warrior who also just happens to wield the mighty “Flames of Judgment” (sounds like Hell to us).

The game promises multiple endings, a strong story and a party system that adapts to your own personal style of gameplay.

Check out some screens recently made available by Konami below.

Update:  accordng to Joystiq, Vandal Hearts has now slipped from its September date and is scheduled for a release sometime in winter.
