E3 09; Vidzone PlayStation Blog Europe Interview
The launch of Vidzone is only a week away and we are pretty excited as finally we can get access to over 10,000 tracks for free in our living rooms. It will be like having a music channel where we get to choose the music that we want and can avoid getting interrupted by commercial breaks every ten minutes.Â
The European PlayStation Blog team had a talk with the people behind the service at the Los Angeles convention to find out more about it and their ambitions.
Not only will there be thousands of music videos from the beginning, there will also be exclusive interviews, behind the scenes music videos, and live gig footage.Â
From the very start content will be added weekly in the hundreds and their ambition is to have every music video ever made, and classic live performances all the way back to the 1950s. That certainly is optimistic and we would be delighted if they achieve it.
If you want specifics on where it is launching, they say initially it will be available in the UK, Ireland, Australia, Italy, France, Spain and Germany.Â
The reason why other countries will not see a launch straight away is due to the sourcing of advertising. They hope to spread to other regions though sometime in the future, although we’re not to sure if he is simply referring to other countries in Europe or further afield like North America.
The service arrives next Thursday and we are ready!
