Burn Zombie Burn! DLC; designer hints at Japanese adventure next up for Bruce?

Not ones to simply sit back and bask in the glory of what has been universally acclaimed as a great and addictive PSN title, it appears the guys over at Doublesix have been hard at work expanding the Burn Zombie Burn! universe.

Apart from two new levels placing Bruce on a UFO soon to be on offer as (affordable, we’re assured) DLC, the studio also has some other great updates like custom soundtrack support and YouTube video uploading functionality on the way.

We decided to get in touch with senior designer Ollie Barder and ask some quick -fire questions about the upcoming DLC and what lies ahead for the future of the game.

Jump into the deep end and get WET this September

Day after day we continue to hear about delays plaguing our most anticipated games, the latest of which is Dark Void. Thankfully, Bethesda and A2M have kept with their promise of delivering their stylized shooter WET this autumn.

Water references aside, September 18th marks the date Europeans will be able to get their hands on Rubi Malone in her quest for revenge who just so happens to be voiced by the lovely Eliza Dushku. Swordplay, pistols, parkour; this lady has it all.

F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin DLC “Reborn”

Warner Bros. and Monolith Studios have announced four extra single-player levels as part of a new DLC pack for F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin.

Entitled Reborn, the new levels will coincide with the events from the retail game and see players face the wrath of Alma from a new perspective.

Taking on the role of Replica soldier Foxfrot813 as part of an orbital Powered Armor drop, gamers are assured that “nothing is as it seems.”

Is it ever?

Invincible Tiger: The Legend Of Han Tao – Interview Part I

We revealed recently that upcoming PSN title, Invincible Tiger: The Legend of Han Tao would last about the same as a DVD movie plus extras.

We discovered this during an extensive interview with the brain behind the game, Ollie Clarke. The Blitz Arcade Animator took time to get strapped into our examination chair and get hooked up to our lie detector while we quizzed him about his title and all things game-related.

So without further ado…

PS3 manufacturing costs reduced by 70%

Following the poor PlayStation sales results for Q1 of this year, Sony held a conference for overseas investors and Nobuyuki Oneda, CEO of Sony and Executive Vice President made an interesting comment about manufacturing costs for the PlayStation 3.

When the PS3 launched in North America and Japan back at the end of 2006, costs for producing PS3s were said to be around $800, when Sony were actually selling the console for up to $599 in the US.

inFAMOUS movie in the works

We are used to seeing superheroes from comics ripped out of the pages and put onto the big screen, but what about from games?

The big news is that Sony Pictures have signed up screenwriter Sheldon Turner to adapt inFAMOUS, the popular PS3 franchise, into a feature film.

Dark Void boards the Delay Train; can’t find a seat

Either Modern Warfare-itis has now reached pandemic proportions or studios are really falling down when it comes to sticking to their development plans.

Joining the ranks of Max Payne 3, Bayonetta and pretty much every other game you were hoping to get your mitts on over the holidays, Dark Void will now be held back until the less busy (ironically now more busy considering the other delays) period of Q1 2010.

Square Enix reveal yet another countdown site

Brought to our attention by our good friends over at PS3 Center, it appears that Square Enix are at it again.

Just like the Count from Sesame Street, the Japanese developer’s addiction to counting shows no abatement with yet another page depicting an ever decreasing clock found clicking away over at the studio’s official site.

What could it be? We have some theories.

During our chat with Ollie, we found out just what we can expect from the game in terms of real play time when the game hits later this year.

Blur Behind The Scenes Video Is Not Blurry At All

BlurBlur looks like a grownup’s Mario Kart. Powerups, powerups, powerups. And nitro. Apparently everyone uses it these days, even folks in tiny toy cars.

With 20 cars, 14 tracks, lots of powerups and them twins Blur (or Bleh as the developers like to call it) is shaping up to be a fun racing game. But Blur offers a bit more than just straight up racing, you can bully your way to the front of the pack by barging, shunting and shocking the competition.

North American PS Store Update For July 30th – The One With All The Cake

Feed me! Time to stuff royalty with magic cake; we know you have been waiting for it. Why do we know this, because so have we.

Lost in the cake excitement is the second part of Watchmen: The End is Nigh. At the same price of Fat Princess, PS3 Attitude predicts that Princess will win the popular vote by a landslide.

“No plans” to localise Yakuza 3 – Sega

Since previous chapters in the Yakuza franchise have managed to wander outside their native homeland of Japan, we naturally thought an English localised version of the third entry in the tough organised crime-based series would eventually appear on this side of the world.

Not so it seems as, despite rave reviews and selling like hot-cakes in Japan, Sega have confirmed to Eurogamer that they have “no plans” to give Western gamers the chance of getting their hands dirty with the latest Mafioso themed game.

PlayStation sales slide

Reported over at GamesIndustry.biz, Sony have recorded a $268 million loss during Q1 2009 with the PS3 and PSP particularly under-performing in the game sales department.

Shipping a total of 1.1 million PS3s over the three month period, this figure is significantly lower in comparison than the same quarter in 2008 when the electronics giant shifted a further 0.5 million units.

MAG beta opens – if you work for Sony

Obviously taking the softly-softly approach, Sony have confirmed that the first tentative stage of the MAG beta has begun.

How come we haven’t seen sites exploding with new information as people express their opinions about Zipper Interactive’s new 256 player frag-fest? Well, so far, only Sony employees are invited.

Hunter. Survivor. Prey. New Aliens Vs. Predator trailer

Sega’s harem of Aliens games have gone through a number of ups and downs of late, from Obsidian Entertainment’s RPG finally succumbing to an acidic themed end to Aliens: Colonial Marines slipping to 2010.

One xenomorphic game we are certain will eventually see the cold light of day is Rebellion’s Aliens Vs. Predator. And to prove it’s not all just shadows shifting ominously down sterile and vacant corridors, some footage of the game has finally surfaced.

Get ready To Invade Planet 51 This November

Planet_51Have you heard about the film Planet 51? It’s a new animated film from the writer of Shrek and Shrek 2. Like almost (every?) new animated film it’s getting a videogame that launches with the movie. But what will Planet 51 The Game will be all about?

Here’s the premise, American astronaut Captain Charles “Chuck” Baker (that’s you) lands on Planet 51 thinking he’s the only person on the entire planet, but the reality is quite the opposite.
