European release of Demon’s Souls “in limbo”
It’s quite common when it comes releasing a Japanese game outside of the Land of the Rising Sun for multiple publishers to throw their hats into the international publishing duties ring.
However, with the NA release of From Software’s Demon’s Souls covered by Atlus States-side, many have wondering who – if anyone – will pick up its distribution in Europe.
Eurogamer have reached out to Sony (who published the game in Japan), Tecmo KOEI and Ubisoft but it appears that no one is willing to put up their hand and claim they’re publishing the RPG in Europe.
It’s unlikely that such a well received (and translated) game would fail to get a European release but, in an ironic turn of events, a game that has experienced brisk business as an import title could continue to do so if a a European date is not forthcoming.
We’ll keep you informed as soon as the European publisher decides to show their cards. Demon’s Souls hits NA on October 6th.
