FUEL demo now available
Welcome back. You're a regular here, so why not follow us on Twitter too...
FUEL, Codemasters’ latest racing franchise, may well have been breaking world records, but nobody is doing doughnuts over the game’s sales figures.
The title has so far managed to sell only 60,000 copies on the PS3 and 70,000 on the Xbox 360 after five weeks on the shelves. If you’re wondering how that compares to other racing titles, Motorstorm: Pacific Rift did 67,000 copies on launch day alone.
But all that could be about to change, thanks to a new demo that has been launched for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC today.
The FUEL demo enables players to take on the Ocean Rush career event, where seven racers can use the open-world aspect of this racing game to choose their own paths and short-cuts. You will also get to take on Blitz – a checkpoint challenge where players must race against the clock to reach the next marker before time runs out.
Gamers who download the PS3 version can also play online for a limited period of 2 weeks from release, experiencing 16-player ‘free ride’ in a limited area of the Tsunami Reef zone or challenging up to 6 other players in the Ocean Rush career race.
Hopefully the demo will have the desired effect and will kickstart sales for this title, as good sandbox racing games are pretty hard to find these days.

The truth is in the numbers… I got Pacific rift right away and all the addons, but I have only thought about this game so far. I am intrigued by the thought of driving down the road with a tornado raging not far off in the distance. So maybe a demo will make me want to get this game sooner. I think I really should have it, seems like all the games I have lately require great concentration, it would be nice to to travel aimlessly around cyberworld at 3AM in the morning,… and I am burned out with paradise city and islands. Hopefully the demo is not disappointing.
This game seems cool, I am going to download it later when I get home from vacation
