Insomniac plan to stick with Sony

insomniac Insomniac plan to stick with SonyInsomniac have been a valuable developer for Sony and their PlayStation 3 console. They have delivered great titles such as Resistance 1 and 2, and are in the process of developing their second Ratchet and Clank game for the PS3.

The good news for us is that they have no plans to go multiplatform in the ‘foreseeable future’.

Speaking to GameIndustry.biz, Ryan Schneider who is director of marketing and communications for Insomniac announced that although naturally they had considered other platforms, they have no plans to change their current strategy:

Sure, as an independent developer, you do consider those options – but at the same time we do have a great relationship with Sony… We’ve been with Sony for a long, long time now, and that’s where we intend to stay for the foreseeable future.

The developers are such an asset for PS3 gamers and it would be a shame if they would have to give up some of their resources and time for other platforms.

They even have some praise for Sony themselves and the support that they give to them as he explains here:

Sony bends over backwards to work with its development teams. Their product development team is second to none – we absolutely love working with them… Their PR and marketing folks are terrific to work with and very dedicated to the cause, and there are some very creative people there… We feel very fortunate to have that sort of relationship in place.

We hope their relationship keeps on going and their quality titles keep on coming!
