LittleBigPlanet Game of the Year Edition on the way

Submitted by on Friday, 10 July 20092 Comments

gift-sackboyMedia Molecule is working on a new version of LittleBigPlanet, according to MCV today.

The ‘Game of the Year’ edition will include the full game plus most of the currently available downloadable content.

Sony’s new mascot seems to be coming on in leaps and bounds at present.

This new GotY edition of the game, probably slated for a release that will see it in many a Christmas present box, is just one of the Sackboy-related titles you’ll see this year.

The PSP version of LBP is being readied for release around the fourth quarter of this year, and Alex Evans has recently been talking with about LittleBigPlanet 2. In the meantime, the promise of weekly DLC for the title continues to keep gamers coming back for more, with a Ghostbusters theme being the next to hit the PlayStation Store.

Which makes it all the more disheartening that the game can be bought from some retailers at prices as low as £11.99. The good news is that the title has managed at least 2.2 million unit sales at this point, and the GotY edition will surely see Sackboy eclipse the three million mark by the end of 2009.
