Motorstorm: Pacific Rift patch brings us Home

Welcome back. You're a regular here, so why not follow us on Twitter too...

Engorged Motorstorm: Pacific Rift patch brings us HomeMotorstorm: Pacific Rift has received a third major patch, and this update brings us closer to a more relevant and fully featured PlayStation Home gaming environment.

Home has certainly been coming along at a pace, but one of the main features promised and demonstrated prior to release still requires much better support; game launching.

This new v1.03 patch, available to download right now, brings us the ability to launch a multiplayer game directly from Home. Indeed, the irony of this isn’t lost on us, since it was the original Motorstorm that was used to demonstrate this game launching feature during a prior E3 showcase.

In addition to the Home integration, the update also unlocks the secret microbadges that were brought in during the last patch – you can now see every available microbadge and what you need to do to earn them.

v1.03 of MS:PR also brings a whole host of fixes and tweaks, including easier-to-see gates, new audio options (including that all important ‘horn volume’), the ability to view any player’s stats and compare them with yours, track previews and preparation for a host of upcoming expansions/DLC.

All in all this is another great free update from SCEE and Evolution Studios. With Expansion: SPEED and Expansion: ADRENALINE coming along, it looks like Motorstorm: Pacific Rift is set to run longer than a Prius with a spare battery pack.
