Yarr! It be some Patty the Pirate footage from Tales of Vesperia
We recently highlighted how Japan was about to get “Vesperiafied” with a demo of previously 360 exclusive Tales of Vesperia bound for the Japanese store.
Such a demo did in fact land, and just in case you’ve been wondering what a cute pirate looks like as she fends off opponents accompanied by a raucous guitar soundtrack — why, you’re in luck!
Check out some of the footage of Patty in action below.
If you’re wondering what’s going on during the conversation, Yuri asks if it’s an “unknown” thing they’re going up against at which point Patty replies “Come on! Jesus! A wiccan*! What’s that?” (Yes, it makes just about as much sense in English as it does in Japanese).
The footage shows off the game’s interactive turn-based fighting dynamic and some of the beautifully animated cut scenes with a focus on new PS3-only character Patty Fleur.
Tales of Versperia hits Japan on September 17th. No details are currently available of a Western release but expect it in Q1 2010.
*Don’t quote us on this. “Uiikyan” is not in any Japanese dictionary we have and we’re taking a stab in the dark here.
