Valkyria Chronicles 2 announced – but not for PS3

Valkyria Chronicles Popping up in the latest edition of leading Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu, it would appear that Sega have not been too disgruntled by the early sluggish sales of luscious strategy RGP Valkyria Chronicles and are planning a sequel.

Considering the game is an unappreciated gem and is finally getting the recognition it deserves, we’re not that shocked.

However, what did take us by surprise is that it’s currently only planned for the PSP.

Don’t worry, you haven’t stumbled into a parallel universe and this is not, we’re still PS3 focused here at The Attitude but this does have some relevance to our favourite shiny black slab. Are Sega smarting over the (initial) sales reception Valkyria Chronicles received on the PS3? Do they regard the PSP with its higher install base in Japan as a safer destination for RPGs going forward?

Either way, it looks like the first Valkyria Chronicles has just become an even bigger cult classic if it is to be the one and only outing on the PS3.
