From Software brings us pixelated blocks…in 3D

3dheroes From Software brings us pixelated blocks...in 3DWhat looks like a trip to Blockoland gone horribly wrong is actually the latest creation of From Software. The simply titled 3D Dot Game Heroes is an upcoming 3D RPG made entirely from tiny square blocks.

And when we say entirely, we mean everything. The characters, the environment, and even the little treasure chests are comprised of these cubes.

Even the story revolves around how the world came to be 3D. Set in the Kingdom of Dotnia, everything used to be made up of the sprites of the old days. Thinking it was a good idea, the king decided to turn the world into 3D to attract more visitors. Unfortunately it looks like all it attracted was monsters.

The official Japanese webpage recently went live and From Software released a bunch of screenshots with it. We love the whole block theme of the game as it’s something we haven’t really seen before.

Currently the game is scheduled as a Japan only title but we hope that it’ll be picked up for release in other territories. If not, there’s always the option of importing.
