Guitar Hero 5 DLC not compatible with World Tour

Welcome back. You're a regular here, so why not follow us on Twitter too...

Guitar Hero 5Proving that Activision are in fact the devil*, it transpires that future DLC for upcoming Guitar Hero 5, though compatible with Band Hero, will not play nice with gamers’ current faux-band set up, Guitar Hero World Tour.

So, rockers hoping to stick with what they’ve got and simply add to their set-lists through new DLC, ‘fraid not – you’re gonna have to buy the new game.

The reason given is down to advances in “fake band science” preventing the rudimentary and simplistic inner workings of GHWT from understanding such new and inventive concepts as “Expert+ drumming” and “Vocal star power” found embedded in Guitar Hero 5 DLC.

Of course, track transfer is still possible in the other direction with previous songs from Guitar Hero World Tour and its expansion Greatest/Smash Hits exportable into the newer edition. You’ll be paying for the privilege though.

*Activision are not the devil. We have many friends over at Activision and they assure us that satanic rituals are kept at a bare minimum over at the publisher.
