Insomniac podcast hints at studio’s new game

Submitted by on Monday, 17 August 20093 Comments

Full Moon ShowBroadcasting on the first and third Thursday of every month (so not matching with the actual lunar cycle), Insomniac’s “Full Moon Show” podcast is a way for the studio to connect with its fans, answer some questions and basically goof around for nearly an hour.

Stating that a full Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack In Time level will be playable at Gamescom this week, the guys also confirm that some space gameplay from the upcoming game, though planned for the European convention, didn’t make it due to “non-production related” issues.

A bigger reveal of the ‘cast, however, is what Insomniac’s new studio over in South Carolina are up to.

With hints in the past that the new division would be focusing on their own titles, the podcast confirms that the new game is not a Resistance or a Ratchet entry and is “a lot of fun”, if not a long way off.

Now twenty people strong, the guys comment on the podcast just how much “Insomniac East Coast” have managed to create in the short time they’ve been in existence. Keeping tight-lipped regarding just what they got to play, Ryan and Bryan tease us a little about the new title by stating:

“We’re not going to tell you what they’re working on but we can tell you that we saw it and it’s really awesome. It’s amazing what they’ve done in the time they’ve been down there. It was very impressive. [They’re a] really talented crew. Really great first playable. Lots of fun and a lot of potential but still a long way off. It will be really fun to show it off eventually. Just be happy to know how good to plays now.”
