PQube to publish BlazBlue in Europe Q1 2010
Warmly received by both critics and fans alike over in NA and described as “a game that every self-respecting console fighting fan should play”, PQube have announced that they will publish Arc Work’s 2-D fighter BlazBlue across Europe in early 2010.
Localised into English, German, French, Italian and Spanish, the European version will also feature additional content from character strategy guides, the music soundtrack from the sold-out US Limited Edition along with exclusive gameplay content such as new characters and moves.
Representing the first title in a new partnership between PQube and Zen United, the former’s Dave Pain has spoken about the new venture:
“The long running 2D fighting genre has seen a welcome boost in 2009 with updated versions of several franchises brought to Next Gen PS3 and 360 consoles.â€
Head of Zen United Tomo Ohno is also upbeat about the publishing deal stating:
“BlazBlue reached number 1 in the Japanese arcades and already sales of the Japanese and US console versions have beaten forecastsâ€.
It’s good to see more specialised games getting a release this side of the Atlantic. We’ll be sure to have our thumbs suitably oiled for BlazBlue’s upcoming release early next year.
