Randy Couture headlines EA SPORTS MMA

Submitted by on Monday, 17 August 20093 Comments

EA MMA Randy CoutureRandy Couture is probably the most known name in the Mixed Martial Arts community. At 6’1” and 220 pounds, this tank of a man is a force you don’t want to reckon with. His 16-9 record and five time MMA Champion reinforces that fact.

He will be joining the likes of fellow headliner, Fedor Emelianenko, and Jay “The Thoroughbred” Hieron in fighting for the MMA title.

Surprisingly, this isn’t Couture’s first appearance in a video game or even with EA as he appeared in Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3 as Commander Warren Fulle. This time though, he won’t be giving out orders. The only thing he’ll be giving out will be strikes to the face.

“I have been a part of MMA for over 10 years and I am excited about the global visibility that a game like EA SPORTS MMA will bring to the sport,” said Randy Couture. “Like my fighting career, I look forward to taking on all comers in EA SPORTS MMA.”

With the popularity of the recent Strikeforce: Carano vs. Cyborg event, we imagine that it’s only a matter of time before EA announces them as the first women to appear in the game. MMA is on the rise. Are you prepared for the fury?
