VidZone streams top 100 million

Submitted by on Tuesday, 4 August 2009One Comment

VidzoneWe have always thought of VidZone as a valueable and popular element of the PlayStation 3’s media capabilities for the seven countries that support it.

Now we have proof on how popular the service is after Sony has release some figures for the music video service.

Over the eight weeks that it has been out, 100 million videos have been streamed which is astonishing. Furthermore, one million people so far have downloaded it from the PlayStation Store.

This surprisingly averages to 100 video streams per person which is certainly a lot higher than we would have guesstimated beforehand.

In addition to the massive numbers, Sony have released a list of the top ten streamed videos of all time. Unsurprisingly, the late Michael Jackson dominates the chart with hits taking six out of the ten songs.

  1. Black Eyed Peas – “Boom Boom Pow”
  2. Michael Jackson – “Thriller”
  3. Lady Gaga – “Poker Face”
  4. Michael Jackson – “Beat It”
  5. Michael Jackson – “Billie Jean”
  6. Michael Jackson – “Man In The Mirror”
  7. Eminem – “We Made You”
  8. Dizzee Rascal, Armand Van Helden – “Bonkers”
  9. Michael Jackson – “Black Or White”
  10. Michael Jackson – “Another Part Of Me”

We would like to hear about your favourite songs on VidZone, or your most loved songs in general.
